Just a few to show!

I did these card a couple of weekends ago when I was making all my male cards and have only just got round to being able to post them now! Rylee - who refused to have an afternoon nap this afternoon has gone out with my neice, Beth for a walk. She's just completed her college course and has this week free until she starts work full-time at the same nursery as Fae as a Nursery Assistant, so is at a bit of a loose end! Of course I'm not complaining lol! (this post has taken untiil Wednesday morning to post, I just couldn't find the time to do it yesterday, kids!) Anyhow back to the cards ...This first card is made using another one of my Hanglar images ~ I just can't get enough of em, can't wait till we can buy the stamps in the UK! He was coloured using watercolour pencils and H2O's. CS ~ Papermill Shop, pp ~ justpassinthru free download, buttons and cord from stash.
This image is from a PIF i recieved a while back and can't remember who from, but thanks anyway! It was coloured using watercolour pencils and flourescent gel pens. CS ~ Papermill, pp ~ Pink Petticoat giveaway, ribbon ~ stash. This little image is from a RAK that Vicki sent me. He's coloured using watercolour pencils and H2O's. I added glitter to his balloon and then later 18. The card is made using one of Katharina's sketches. CS ~ Papermill, pp ~ Shabby Princess, Moody Blues, ribbon ~ stash.
Image coloured with watercolour pencils and H2O's and glitter added to the hearts. CS ~ Papermill, pp ~ Shabby Princess, Moody Blues, ribbon and safety pin ~ stash and buckle made from scrap card.More Moody Blues paper (made the 3 cards out of 3 sheets of A4). Yet another sketch was used and the image again came from my blog buddy the fab Vicki. Coloured him with the usual! Brads from stash.

Moving on to last week, which was Rylee free-time! I got loads done towards the end of last week and through the weekend once all the invites were made and this is what I did... I've just found a fab sketch site after blog hopping Mojo Monday. This card is made using one of the sketches from there along with all the cards that follow! Decided to make one of each of the sketches working from the very first all the way to this week .... don't panic I've not done them all lol! The little Alvin was one of my very first purchases from Magnolia and he was bought with the intention to use him on Rylee's invites! So I now have 8 other Alvins exactly the same as this one ready to use! Anyway, CS ~ Papermill, pp ~ Shabby Princess, Celebrate, buttons and ribbon (which was a scrap stuck round my buddles of ribbon) ~ Poppicrafts, used the faithful Cuttlebug and Nesties for the scalloped circle and a slider die, peel offs ~ stash. Glamour dust on wings and red glitter on star. I think this card is sooo cute, I have no idea who I'll send it too or if I'll even get chance too... Ellie's taken all my cards to work! This just has to be one of my favourites at the moment! At this rate I'm gonna have to buy more images. He's coloured using the usual with glossy accents on the fish. CS ~ Papermill, pp ~ Popsicle ~ Just Passin Thru, brad ~ stash and sentiment "fishin' you a happy birthday" done on PC. Used the Nesties for the circle and scalloped circle.

The last card for today cos I can see your getting bored now.... is another Hanglar image coloured using the usual. I used everything the same as above, the buttons are from my stash!

Sorry to keep you sooo long, I hope you like what I've done. I did lots of girly cards too but I'll save them for another day. I have only half an hour left of my Rylee free-time today, gotta fetch him from nursery at 12.30, so bye for now and thanks xxx

Kids!!

Kids ~ don't ya just love em?!!!! Fae phoned me about 2ish this afternoon and said "Mum in your tin do you have a card suitable for a wedding?" Well I didn't and I don't! "I need one for the wedding we're going to this afternoon, but I need it for 3 o'clock" I told her to leave it with me and off I went to work printing paper and painting images and this is what I came up with...

CS ~ Papermill Shop, PP ~ Retrodiva free download, images ~ painted with watercolour pencils and H2O's and cut out and stuck on to cream cs, glamour dust added to wings, ribbon and gems from stash, sentiment ~ part of kit from Argos. The card was made using a sketch from Mojo Monday. I'm dead pleased with the result and will be making some more to add to my tin for such occasions, I've learnt a valuable lesson today to make sure that I have cards in my tin to cover all occasions!!!

Using Scraps

After reading Vicki's blog I decided to show my card that I quickly made on Thursday evening to take to my best friend Vicki. I had printed some photos out for her from when we went out to meet old school friends last month and I wanted something to put them in. After sorting through my messy dining table I came across some paper leftover from the card I made last weekend for my friend Suzie and her hubby's wedding anniversary. I'd already made Paula a similar card for her brother and sister-in-laws 25th wedding anniversary using the same paper and image, so these definately were scraps!
CS ~ Crafts Central, PP ~ Shabby Princess, image was coloured with watercolour pencils and H2O's and then i used glossy accents on the heart, which I ruined because I didn't let it dry properly before adding foam pads to the back so it stuck to the breakfast bar! I then got my red glitter out and sprinkled that over the top ... sorted! Ribbon ~ stash, I threaded the flowers on to the ribbon which Ithink looks quite effective, white flower ~ Maya Road and green flower was part of a PIF. I should've taken a photo of the inside, but I didn't, that was because I got in the car to go to Vicki's house and remembered I hadn't taken a photo of it and rushed back indoors to do it! I folded the bottom few inches of the card up and made it into a wallet to put the photos in. I'm so pleased with how this turned out.

Look What I Got!!!

The postman's just been and he brought me my order from Poppicrafts. What a fantastic service, ordered them Thursday wasn't expecting them till next week! But look what I got....

OMG! all that ribbon and those buttons! I know its sad but I'm gonna have sooo much fun putting it away in my glass jars! The biggest problem will be actually making myself use it

Moving on, Ellie was in show last night. "Hair and Beauty present A Night at the Theatre" with all proceeds going to Breast Cancer Care. All hair, beauty and nail students did a turn, either performing or doing the catwalk showing off their hair and make-up designs. Ellie was part of the first act "Level 3 Beauty present Rocky Horror Show". In preparation the girls had spray tanned each other (Andy and I are having one later today, Ellie got all the equipment for Christmas, but has only just learnt to use it at college) and did each others make-up. The hair students styled their hair. They'd had the dance students choreographing for them and it was absolutely fab! We were really excited for her and turned up early to take photos of her before she went on .......but, me being an idiot forgot to change the batteries in the camera and switched it on to take a photo ... change batteries ... appears on the screen. So, I do have a photo but its taken on my mobile so its not so good. Once the professional ones arrive I'll put one of those on!

This was taken after the performance. They did have a group photo and as soon as I get my mitts on it I'll upload it! But anyway doesn't she look fab. Her false eyelashes were great, they had little diamantes on.

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 15

Challenge 15 is "Make A Birthday Card". Well thats easy, the hardest thing is which one do I show you? I've decided on my birthday card for Rylee who will be 1 next month. No surprises that it involves a giraffe lol! The giraffe stamp was all the way from the US courtesy of Enfys who kindly went shopping for it for me, after I'd seen her use it on one of her fab cards - thanks again Enfys!!! CS ~ Crafts Central, PP ~ backing paper disc brought off ebay, buttons ~ rak from Carol, ribbon and peel off ~ stash, 1 cut using Hippy Chic Alphas with the Cuttlebug and yellow card embossed using mosiac folder with the cuttlebug.

Rylee's Birthday Invites

As you all probably know, Rylee, Andy and I have this thing about Giraffe's. For those that don't know it started the day after he was born. Andy and I wanted to buy something different to take to hospital on our first official visit to our very first grandchild (we'd already seen and I'd been the first to hold him, but that doesn't count!) I knew that I wanted to buy a balloon, but I didn't want the usual balloons that you can buy from most florists. I wanted something special! We found a shop about 5 miles away from us that did huge balloons with gifts in, so off we went. Once there we were faced with a shop full of cuddly toys and other paraphernalia, but amongst all that one little Giraffe called Buttons stood out! We had him put inside a huge balloon along with little white and pale blue balloons and put in a box with a huge bow and topped with another balloon .... see below.....
And so our love of giraffe's was born! Since then we have bought clothes for Rylee if they have had a giraffe on, books, toys and even pyjamas for myself! I've made 3 birthday cards with giraffes on for his 1st birthday (2 of them are already on here and finished the 3rd last night, but not got round to taking a photo yet) So, it was inevitable that I should make birthday invites that have giraffes on...

The invitations were made following a tutorial Here, which I found very easy to follow and understand. CS ~ Crafts Cental, giraffe image on the outside courtesy of Carol, which I scanned and printed on to cream CS (not sure if I was allowed to do it and I apologise in advance if I'm not!), giraffe on inside is a clipart image found via google, sentiment is done on PC, ribbon from stash. I had lots of help making these from Andy, we spent most of the morning measuring, cutting and assembling...it was good fun! Fae and Scott haven't seen them yet with being on holiday and we can't wait to show them when they get back tomorrow!

Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ Feelin' HOT HOT HOT!

This weeks challenge is to use HOT colours! Think reds, oranges, yellows, hot pinks etc!
CS ~ Papermill Shop, PP ~ Shabby Princess, stamp ~ one of Kerry's fab girly stamps, available from Debbie Moore, coloured with H2O's and Sakura stardust pens, blooms and brads ~ stash. Used liquid pearls for the centre of the flower and glmaour dust on her head dress which doesn't show up in the photo.
It's our first Rylee free week day since the beginning of February and whilst we love him to bits, it's so nice not to have him here! I've achieved absolutely nothing today but this one card ... isn't that fab! I've been shopping, watched a little TV, lit a scented candle on my coffee table and not a lot of anything else. I don't need to tidy toys away, food, change nappies or deal with a grumpy baby! Heaven!

Cute Card Thursday ~ 3 different embellies

This weeks challenge is to use 3 different embellishments on a card, ribbon, buttons, brads, gems etc., again with a the chance of winning a fab prize!

I must admit that at the moment I don't seem to be able to make just the one card. So here are my creations from yesterday and today.....sorry!

These 3 cards are made using a fab free papers from Shabby Princess. CS ~ Papermill shop, ribbon ~ local market, blooms, gems and brads from stash, images coloured with H2O's and watercolour pencils and blinged with glamour dust. Oh, and on the first card I used my new toy "Gloosy Accents" on the rain, I'll really impressed with it!
This card is made using a fab free "doodle" from Kerry, I couldn't wait to use this fab image and had the chance to today. It's my friend Suzie's wedding anniversary today, so i printed the image out and sprayed it with hairspray (I've found that it fixes the ink from the printer allowing me to watercolour it) I coloured it with H2O's and watercolour pencils. CS ~ Papermill Shop, PP ~ Shabby Princess, sweet sprinkles, ribbon and gems ~ stash, heart ~ Morrisons.

I seem to be getting lots of male cards done just lately, not sure whats happening cos I normally have trouble making them. I better not complain really! Out of the 8 cards I made at the weekend on 2 were female one's and even though I say so myself they are gorgelicious! I will post my other cards when I get chance. I have a Rylee-free morning tomorrow, but thats gonna be taken with ironing :/ then next week we have a Rylee, Fae and Ellie free WEEK!!!!!!!!! Their all off to Butlins in Skegness, Monday to Friday, can't wait!

Stamp Something ~ In The Wild!

The challenge for this week is "In the Wild Somethings," show us your wild side! Make a project using natural materials, images of nature, or anything that you can think of that has to do with wildlife.
A few weeks ago I recieved a fab PIF from Kathy at JellyChicks Adventures. It was loads of Riley Moose images, which are just great...

As you can see there is every pose and occasion covered that I could possibly want or need! So what could be better to use for this challenge?....

CS ~ Papermill Shop, PP ~ Pink Petticoat, giveaway, ribbon, gems and safety pin ~ stash, image ~ Kathy's PIF, sentiment done on PC and cut out with my Nesties. One of Katharina's sketches was used to make this card!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 13

Challenge 13 is "Xmas Cards". Well this weeks Cute Card Thursday challenge made me think, not for long mind, cos I've been itching to use my RR "Kiss Me You Fool" stamp and with it only being June I've really not had chance to play!

I got up nice and early this morning, with only a few chores to do cos I'd done most of them yesterday once Rylee had gone home. So, it was just the breakfast pots and hanging the washing out and then a whole day of undisturbed crafting....bliss!! Ellie had gone off this morning to Silverstone, under strict instructions to be careful, drive safely (its her first long journey) and to ring us, not text as soon as she got there! I needed to take my mind off Ellie on her travels and to enjoy my Rylee-free time. Well, I achieved loads. I made 8 cards!!! My first 2 cards were specifically for the CCT challenge....

This was my first and was made using Friday Sketchers #4. CS ~The Papermill Shop, PP ~ Ho ho ho freebie paper downloaded from net (i'll try and find it again and get back), snowflake paper ~ Pink Petticoat, image ~ Rubber Romance, coloured with H2O's, Fluffy stuff on hat and Stickles on the mistletoe, brads from stash.

This is the second one I did and I prefer this one to the first. The papers are from the same place (still not found), CS ~ Papermill, flowers ~ stash, gems ~ pearl beads courtesy of my mum's friend, image ~ RR and sentiment done on the PC which is actually the name of the stamp. The sketch is one of Katharina's, I just love her sketches and made most of my cards using them today!

So, I now have my first 2 Christmas cards made!

Monday 2 June 2008

Friday Sketchers #4

This is my first attempt at this challenge blog and I've thoroughly enjoyed taking part. Sketch #4 is ... I made 2 cards using this sketch and will most definately be using it again. Here is my interpretation ...
Card 1 is made using CS from stash and PP left over from another project. Card 2 uses CS from stash and PP from Just Passin Thru and is a free download called Popsicle, there are some fab papers in this kit and I can't wait to use them! Brads for both cards are from stash. Both images are coloured using watercolour pencils and H2O's. The hearts on the first card are sprinkled with red glitter.

To Die For - Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks challenge is "To Die For" simply to use die cuts or punched shapes on your projects! I've been really productive over the weekend and made quite a few cards, for no reason whatsoever lol! And I have a few cards that fit the bill ...

These 2 cards were made after a blog hopping session where I saw someone (and i'm sorry but I dont remember who, but thanks for the inspiration!) had made a round card. I used CS from stash and managed to use some scraps of paper up. The die's I used are my trusty Nesties, I just love them at the minute and use them at every opportunity. Both images are coloured with H2O's. Blooms, ribbon and buttons all from stash.

Also did this one using CS, PP and brads from stash, image coloured with H2O's and cut out using my Nesties. Added glamour dust to the star for added sparkle! Used one of Katharina's sketches again. I just love 'em!
