Sketch Saturday Challenge #140

Welcome to the weekend!  My baby girl was 21 yesterday ... not quite sure how that happened ... so we have plans for most of the weekend ... most of which include preparing for our celebration tomorrow evening with a radiotherapy session for Dad in the morning dropped in for good measure ... heaven forbid we forget LOL.  Eloise had to work yesterday morning and has a shift this evening and tomorrow morning before we can do any serious celebrating.  We did try and make her day special yesterday and decorated the front of our house with banners and where she parks on the drive was surrounded with 21st balloons LOL ....that was so she knew her spot!  She managed to go out a little bit last night to her friends daughters 6th birthday party and came home sozzled!

Anyway, enough of my life .... This weeks challenge is sponsored by our generous regular sponsor The Craft Barn ... The Craft Barn offer a wide range of goodies for all crafter's from all things 'Cuttlebug' to the essential adhesives. They have a HUGE stock of clear and rubber stamps too. For all the latest products that have been added to the site PLEASE CLICK HERE, including their range of COPIC pens.

They also have the latest Crafty Secrets and My Paper World stamps in store NOW!

And it's a set of Crafty Secrets stamps that you could be using if you are our challenge winner this week!

Sketch Saturday DT Call

We are having a DT Call at Sketch Saturday so want all card makers to apply!

We are looking for 2 new design team members ... could one of them be you?

Here's a bit of info about joining SS...
As we're a sketch challenge blog, we don't have freebies to give our DTs, Jo
doesn't ever ask for freebies either, we want people to sponsor us and be happy to donate a prize for our winner without thinking they have to give to us a freebie too.  S
o freebies, for us, isn't an issue, although when we are offered them we are extremely grateful of course!

Your duties would be:
To make a DT card each week, using the sketch provided.

Your card will need to be ready each Friday before the challenge goes live on the Saturday. If Friday's are busy for you then you can of course upload it earlier (i do). If you are worried about uploading direct to SS then you can upload your photo to our private DT blog where one of us will upload it for you.

Jo gives the Design Team weeks of sketches in advance, so you won't be asked for any last minute cards.

We would need you to leave comments each week too, currently 10 comments per 100 entrants, but of course you can comment on more if you wish to, Jo appreciate's that we all lead busy lives so this is why you would be allocated a group of numbers to leave comments for our challengers.

You would also be required to design a sketch of your own when it's your DT week, currently once a year, although you wouldn't get a DT week until next year as this year is already arranged. Gives you time to see how we do it :)
When you do have a DT week, Jo can help you digitise your sketch if you need her to, but the design will be yours and you take the credit.

You would be required to find a sponsor for your DT week, and arrange the prize, email the winner etc.

You would also need to find a Guest Designer for your DT week and for the rest of the month that your DT week falls in. If you are unsure who to ask, I suggest that your GD be someone who actually takes part in our challenges already, as this is a nice way to say thank you.

If you have any questions please ask Jo!

Anyone interested in joining our team please EMAIL JO with links to TWO posts from your blog of cards that you consider your best work.

Please do not send just pictures, we want to see the card in it's blog post (hence we want the URL), and please send a maximum of only 2 links, and for only 2 cards (not to a post listing your top 5 or top 10)
It will be a difficult decision anyway, and to keep it fair to everyone who applies we'd like to keep it to two links/cards please. Thank you.

Closing date for entries is 10am (UK time) Friday 21st January.

We will take a look at all the blog links, we will then visit the blogs to see more work by the entrants, and then we will choose the new members as a team.

So come on ladies send that email and come and join the fun!

Sketch Saturday ~ Week #137

I do apologise for my late Sketch Saturday post, but we got one of these ...

Our little Koree Andrew arrived at 5.25am, Saturday 8th January 2011.  Fae's waters broke at 12.30am and we took delivery of a very sleepy Rylee.  Of course there was no chance of me going back to sleep until i had a phone call to let me know everything had gone OK and everyone was well ... that came at 6.30am.  Rylee's response to being told of his brothers arrival was "did Santa bring him?"  ... i told him "yes" LOL

So back to Sketch Saturday .... the sketch was designed by our fabulous Jo and looked like this ....

I made a card following the sketch that looks like this .....
