I have decided to step down from my DT position at Sketch Saturday
... its not a decision that was made lightly, but one that I have thought long and hard about for the past few months.
As you know
Dad died last November and left a gaping hole in our lives. His leaving and lack of help from siblings has meant that my DN (niece) and I have had to take on some of the day-to-day running of Mum's home, maintenance and the gardening
. Obviously, something has had to give and that something is my crafting time .... of which I only now manage a couple of hours whilst Sunday lunch cooks!
Stepping down means that I can craft without pressure whenever I have the time and if I don't have time that's OK too

I've had another busy week finishing Mum's kitchen whilst she's on holiday. This time replacing all her worktops and repainting the kickboards and cupboard handles. It does look lovely even though I say so myself. Once again I was helped by DN and Paula, with Andy doing the odd bit of siliconing round the work surface. Here's hoping Mum doesn't plan another holiday anytime soon 
, OK, so I'm totally sh*tting myself 
the former excitement seems to have disappeared completely and i'm left wondering why I thought this was a good idea 
in the first place 
once again, but I really don't know where the days are going! Last week has passed in a blur .... with hospital, drs and family visits, grandbaby babysitting and a spot of retail therapy thrown in for good measure! 
We've taken over Dad's greenhouse and planted lots of seeds we found in his drawer and we now have runner beans, beetroot, carrots, red onions, lettuce, purple sprouting and sunflowers growing. I'm proudest of the runner beans, only cos they seem to grow the quickest so have the best results ....
