Wrapping You In An Angel Hug .... Sketch Saturday Week #207

This is my first week of once again being a Sketch Saturday Challenger .  

I've had another busy week finishing Mum's kitchen whilst she's on holiday.  This time replacing all her worktops and repainting the kickboards and cupboard handles.  It does look lovely even though I say so myself.  Once again I was helped by DN and Paula, with Andy doing the odd bit of siliconing round the work surface.  Here's hoping Mum doesn't plan another holiday anytime soon .

Just Chicken In On You .... Sketch Saturday Challenge #206

I have decided to step down from my DT position at Sketch Saturday  ... its not a decision that was made lightly, but one that I have thought long and hard about for the past few months.

As you know Dad died last November and left a gaping hole in our lives.  His leaving and lack of help from siblings has meant that my DN (niece) and I have had to take on some of the day-to-day running of Mum's home, maintenance and the gardening .  Obviously, something has had to give and that something is my crafting time .... of which I only now manage a couple of hours whilst Sunday lunch cooks!  

Stepping down means that I can craft without pressure whenever I have the time and if I don't have time that's OK too

Last weeks rollerskating wasn't that bad, I did however bottle going in the big kid rink and instead chose to stay in the learner rink with a member of staff keeping me safe from all the kids!  

We had such a busy week, transforming Mum's kitchen.  We painted all the cupboard doors, laid new flooring and replaced the taps ... and it took her half an hour to notice the kitchen looked different

Recycling My Cards .....

Ok, call me tight if you want, I prefer frugal  ... but if someone doesn't want to keep the cards I make ... which I don't have a problem with ... I want them back!  They are my babies  at the end of the day.  What I like to do is recycle them as much as possible, by changing the sentiment and verse and/or re-colouring the image .... 

This is a card I made last year for the grandbabies to give their Mummy for her birthday ....

.... and this has had the skin re-coloured and the sentiment changed ....
