I have decided to step down from my DT position at Sketch Saturday
... its not a decision that was made lightly, but one that I have thought long and hard about for the past few months.
As you know
Dad died last November and left a gaping hole in our lives. His leaving and lack of help from siblings has meant that my DN (niece) and I have had to take on some of the day-to-day running of Mum's home, maintenance and the gardening
. Obviously, something has had to give and that something is my crafting time .... of which I only now manage a couple of hours whilst Sunday lunch cooks!
Stepping down means that I can craft without pressure whenever I have the time and if I don't have time that's OK too
This weeks Sketch Saturday Challenge is hosted
Susie and sponsored by the fabulous
.... the sketch to follow has been designed by Susie ...
.... here is what I did with it ....
... I used the fab
Chickies by Mo Manning ....
.... up close and then naked on the inside with a cute little verse ....
To make this card I used ~
CS ~ Stash
DP's ~ Think Spring Download
Buttons ~ Stash
Tools ~ Pencil Crayons, Blending Stumps, Sansodor, Nesties, Cuttlebug, Sewing Machine
.... now I'm not quite sure why she wants me to do this cos its not really as though we don't see each other everyday
, I decided that the rest of the week would be spent partaking in a little retail therapy
of one sort or another. Thursday we did the local charity/vintage shop and brought a few bits and bobs for the grandbabies. Friday we really went for it and did the charity/vintage shops in the local town. I got a pair of Next cropped jeans for £2.99 and a brand new, never worn bra for 99p!
. Today we went to the next town and also ventured into the charity/vintage shops where I managed to find a New Look T-shirt £1.50 and a pair of Next Linen cropped trousers £3.50. We then wandered round the market and managed to buy £30 of assorted fresh meat and
. We're now off to Queenies (Mum) for dinner, which is some lovely porterhouse steak, chips, onion rings and salad!
with my lappy, I thought it was the ideal time to post
and maybe that's cos I don't have too!
.
I've had another busy week finishing Mum's kitchen whilst she's on holiday. This time replacing all her worktops and repainting the kickboards and cupboard handles. It does look lovely even though I say so myself. Once again I was helped by DN and Paula, with Andy doing the odd bit of siliconing round the work surface. Here's hoping Mum doesn't plan another holiday anytime soon
