An Award and a tag!

My fab blog buddy Vicki has given me an award "Kreativ Blogger", thanx Vicki! I'm very honoured to recieved this award and would like to pass it on to Carole, Enfys, Julie, Kerry and Jo

Vicki has also tagged me......

The rules of the game get posted at the beginning. Each player answers the questions about themselves. At the end of the post, the player then tags 5-6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.

1. Ten years ago:- D'you know I'm having problems remembering what I was doing yesterday let alone 10 years ago....I was probably doing the same mundane things that I still do today, looking after the kids and hubby!

2. 5 things in todays to do list:- the ironing (but that wont get done till tomorrow), cook tea, make cards, cut my parents hair and do not a lot else, cos its a Rylee free day!!

3. Snacks I enjoy:- Has to be Marmite crisps mmm........

4. Things I would do if I were a Millionaire:- Build my own house, look after the family and close friends, buy a Mitsubishi Animal or something like it and just generally have a great time!

5. Places I have lived:- I've lived in the same village all my life (boring)!
I'm gonna pass this on to the same people as the award! Thanks ladies and have fun! Enjoy your weekend.

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 12

This weeks challenge is to create a card using patterned paper. Whilst I was on a roll with my new Magnolia stamps I made yet another fathers day card....CS ~ from stash, pp ~ shabby princess, ribbon and eyelets from stash and sentiment is from pc. Again i used a fab sketch from Katharina.

Jo's Blog Candy

There's some fab blog candy up for grabs over at Jo's blog. For a chance to win this fantastic prize she asks that you make a card thats pretty and pink. I can do that no problem! And here it is.....I just love how this card turned out. The image is one of the fab stamps that Kerry designed and I just had to buy, they are such value for money, 12 stamps for £16.99 from Debbi Moore Designs. CS ~ The Papermill Shop, pp ~ Pink Petticoat, Lola's Boudouir Collection, holographic card ~ stash, ribbon ~ stash and gems ~ stash. Image was coloured with twinkling H2O's and blinged with glamour dust. The card was made using another of Katharina's sketches.

Papertake Weekly ~ One For The Fella's

This weeks challenge is to make a man's card. This is a real challenge for me cos I hate making men's cards, i find them so difficult! Anyway I made a few, what with fathers day approaching I thought I should perhaps make a start and then got carried away lol! I used sketches for the cards from Katharina, whose blog I find inspirational!
I used a CS ~ The Papermill Shop, pp ~ Shabby Princess, Moody Blues, ribbon ~ stash, safety pin ~ sewing box, sentiment ~ pc and image ~ here coloured with twinkling h2o's and watercolour pencils.

I'm really excited about this one cos its one of my very first Magnolia stamps that I purchased directly from them, I found this way cheaper and it was actually very quick, which surprised me. I will definately be buying them this way again. CS ~ stash, pp ~ Tabrizia, Beach House Impressions, ribbon ~ stash, safety pin ~ stash, image ~ coloured with h2o's and blinged with glamour dust, sentiment stamped using individual letters ~ studio g.

Where do the days go?

D'you know I just don't seem to have time to blog at the minute. I'm just sneakly doing this while Andy give Rylee his lunch. I'm supposed to be checking e-mails! I did manage last night to make some cards for this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge and for Jo's blog candy, which I intend posting sometime today. But, its Thursday again and they'll be another challenge on Cute Card Thursday and I just can't seem to keep up lol! Vicki has tagged me and given me an award, which I haven't had chance to have a proper look at yet, sorry Vicki, I promise I will do! And to top it all off Rylee has started crawling this past fortnight so we now need eyes in the back of our heads. You just wouldn't believe how fast he is! I also have PIF to post on here, so please keep coming back to check on that. As soon as I've caught up with everything I'll get that sorted!! Right better go Rylee just got hold of the hack saw! :/

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 11

This weeks challenge was to make a card using Katharina's sketch. I'm just loving using sketches at the moment for my card making, they're just less hassle! Fae asked me to make a "birth congratulations" card (i'm sure theres a pattern emerging here!) so I used this sketch to make it!
CS ~ The Papermill Shop, pp ~ via google search, mirri card ~ stash, ribbon ~ stash, image coloured with H2O's and wings sprinkled with glamour dust, sentiment ~ done on PC.

Papertake Weekly Challenge

This weeks challenge is to make a card using the sketch below, which is another one of Katharina's. Fae and Scott are off to a wedding on Saturday and they asked me to make a card for the occasion, so I thought it'd use Katharina's fab sketch to do that. Here's is my interpretation... CS ~ stash, pp ~ dont remember where I downloaded it from sorry! Image was part of a RAK, blooms and brads ~ stash and sentiment is a stamp that I've had forever and have no idea where it came from! I coloured the image using watercolour pencils and H2O's and added some glamour dust to the centre of the flower.

I was also asked to make a card for a naming ceremony and this is what I did today too....
I used Raspberry Road Designs ~ My Baby Love, Girl printed directly on to CS from Crafts Central, its the linen look card. I embellished with gems, hearts and flowers and added ribbon so that it could be tied up like this ....

I made the flowers using 2 flower punches and then added punched leaves. Then, to finish it all off I made a little box to put it in...
I never know how much to charge for the cards I make and I'm definately thinking I've underpriced myself on this one ~ £4!

Just wanted to leave you with one last photo that I took today of Rylee...
He's going to be really pleased we're his grandparents when he's a teenager, don't ya think lol!

Stamp Something Thank You Challenge

This weeks challenge is to create a little something to say "Thank You". Whilst blog hopping I came across this layout on Katharina's blog and loved it. So i decided to make a couple of cards yesterday using the same layout. This one I made for my best friend Vicki, we've been friends since the day she was born (thats cos i'm older lol). Our families used to be very close when we were growing up, so we ended up being bought up like sisters. Although we did loose touch with one another thanks to her wicked, evil stepmum and when we got married and had our children, when we did get in contact again it was as it always had been. We've promised to stay in touch and this time not let anything get in the way of our friendship. So I sent her this card to say thank you for being my best friend! CS ~ stash, pp ~ Raspberry Road Designs, image from here, frame cut using Nestie and sentiment ~ All Night Media, peel-offs, blooms and pearl gems ~ stash.

I made this card for my hubby, Andy. I've not been easy to live with just lately and I wanted to say thank you to him for allowing me time to find myself again, even though he really doesn't get it... bless him! CS ~ stash, pp ~ shabby princess, image from here, buttons and ribbon ~ stash.

I've been a bad blogger!

Sorry I've not been about for the past few days and I've missed a weekly challenge or two, but I've been in a depression of sorts. Just couldn't be bothered, again!! But here are a few cards that I've made since Friday...This is the first of many Father's Day cards I've got to make. I haven't decided whose Dad its for yet, it'll depend on what the next one looks like lol as to whether I send this to my Dad or Andy's! I used Golden Oldies stamp ~ Harv, coloured with H2O's and watercolour pencils, CS from The Papermill Shop, pp from Tabrizia ~ Beach House Impressions, brads from a PIF and sentiment done on PC.

I made this for my good friend Paula who has been feeling really unwell and had a short stay in hospital. I used CS from stash, pp from a PIF along with the image which is also part of a PIF. I coloured it in with my faithful H2O's and used my clear Sakura pen on her shoes to make them look patent, eyelets from stash and sentiment done on PC.
This has to one of my favourites, I just love these Magnolia images and I've even managed to persuade Andy to let me place my first order!!! Anyway, CS from stash, pp from Raspberry Road Design (link on right) ~ My Baby Love Girl, frame cut with Nesties, blooms from stash, No.1 cut with Hippy Chic Alphas on the cuttlebug, image from Jo's RAK and coloured with, yeah you guessed it H2O's and Sakura pens with a touch of angel dust on her wings. Peel offs also from stash and a Crystal Stickers pearl gem. And lastly ......
Rylee asked me to make his Daddy a Father's Day card. I've recently recieved an order from Alota stamps and this is one of them. I wanted stamps that I could use for males as most of my stamps are more for the girlies. I coloured him with my watercolour pencils and tried to use the colouring technique that Ila has on her blog. CS from The Papermill Shop and pp is off the internet somewhere just googled "Jungle paper" and this is what it bought up. I drew the leaves on to a scrap of the same green CS, added a red line with a Sakura Stardust pen and curved them with my bone tool and stuck a foam pad top and bottom of each one to make them a little 3d. Sentiment is done on the PC.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 9

Another fab challenge at Cute Card Thursday and its to use gems or jewels on your card ... and that's it!!!

This is a Rubber Romance stamp (surprise, surprise) Fiona Princess, her dress has been paper pieced using some left over Pink Petticoat paper and I added coloured sand to her belt for added texture. She's been coloured in using H2O's and watercolour pencils. Bling and ribbon from stash and sentiment is a RR freebie stamp. Backing paper is also Pink Petticoat.

Had a fab day today, spoke to my friend who I've not seen for years for 2 hours on the phone. It was great having a right good gossip and catching up. Have arranged a meeting with just a few of us from school. Can't believe its really that long ago and can't wait to meet up with her again!

Aside from the fact she's offering fab candy you should really go take a look at her blog, she has some fantastic cards on there and some brilliant tutorials.

Michelle's Blog Candy

There is some fab purple blog candy up for grabs at Michelle's blog. All you have to do is tell her your favourite colour for a chance to win her yummy goodies!

Dad's birthday card - My Paper World sketch #2

I was looking back through all the sketches at My_Paper_World and decided to use sketch #2 to help me make Dad's birthday card. I've got at the moment that I can't make a card without looking at sketches for inspiration!
I used a card blank from The Works, green CS from The Papermill Shop and pp from Raspberry_Road_Designs, Forgotten paper, Norm is a Golden Oldies stamp and coloured with H2O's and watercolour pencils. The sentiment is done on the computer and the letters cut out from the Hippy Chick Alpha die set with the Cuttlebug. Brads are from stash.

Feeling better today, it must be cos the sun is shining ~ hang on in there Vicki, I think I'm on the chorus! Sending you BIG {{hugs}} right back!!!! xxx

Busy weekend!

I've had a fairly productive weekend. I've made some cards that Fae had asked for and I've typed my friend Vicki's NVQ work for her. I've thoroughly enjoyed my extra day of freedom and managed to make 4 cards. The first being another card for Rylee's 1st birthday in July. Yes, I know I'm being premature but I just felt the need to do them lol! So here it is.... This is the card I've made for my parents to give Rylee. Orange CS from The Papermill Shop, giraffe paper from a cd i got off ebay with loads of backing papers on. The giraffe image is from Carol which she also kindly inked for me. The buttons are also from Carol's RAK. Ribbon is from Pearl's RAK. I cut the number 1 freehand and stuck it to some cream pearl CS and faux stitched using my gold sakura stardust pen. Peel offs from stash.
This was made using CS from The Papermill Shop, paper from stash, image from Jo's PIF, which I coloured using Twinkling H2O's and watercolour pencils, blooms from Bazzill, brads from stash, SUE cut out with Hippy Chick Alpha's and sprinkled with glamour dust.CS from The Papermill Shop, paper downloaded from here, really cheap too! image from Vicki's RAK coloured with Twinkling H2O's, watercolour pencils and sakura stardust pens, number 3 cut with Hippy Chick Alpha's and button from stash.
Another one of Jo's images from RAK (god knows what I'm gonna do when I've used 'em all lol!)coloured with Twinkling H2O's, watercolour pencils and sakura stardust and a bit of glamour dust for her wings. CS from stash, paper from Raspberry_Road_Designs - Flower Girl paper, frame cut with nestie, blooms and brads from stash. Again used the Hippy Chick Alpha's to cut out the number 1.
So, as you can see I got a lot done this weekend, which is surprising for saying how I felt!

The first of Rylee's 1st birthday cards!

Once again i'm having to make 3 birthday cards for one person! But I love a challenge! For this first card which is the one Eloise will be sending Rylee, I used Kerry's fab Giraffe "doodle" as she likes to call it. If you haven't visited her blog already, you really need to. She has some fantastic creations and all hand drawn!!!! I used brown and cream pearl CS from The Papermill Shop, cut out with my Nesties. The pp is from here and is a free download. I used brads from stash to add Rylee's initials and cut a No. 1 from the Hippy Chic alpha set. The image was coloured in using my watercolour pencils. I hope i've done Kerry's image justice, although I have kept it pretty similiar to the card Kerry made cos hers was so gorgeous.

Cute Card Thursday - Challenge 8

This weeks challenge at Cute Card Thursday apparently is a nice easy theme! anything to do with gardens. Hmmm, its that easy that it took me until this morning to decide what I was doing! Although I must say i've totally not been in the mood for anything this week at all. I've just plodded on with no enthusiam in what i've done. This card is loosely based on Katharina's sketch #7
For this card I've used pp from Nikki's PIF, CS from The Papermill Shop, image from Jo, which I coloured with Twinkling H2O's and watercolour pencils, adding a touch of glamour dust to her wings and the flowers and brads are from stash. I've left it without a sentiment cos I dont know who or what its for yet!
