Here's another card i've made and not had time to show ... now this one was originally for Truly Scrumptious Challenge, but it sort of didn't turn out like the sketch ... it does kinda resemble it ... if you squint and tilt your head to the left LOL!

Shhhh dont tell Rylee i'm on the lappy posting this ... i sent him in the lounge to watch Fireman Sam whilst the sausage rolls and scones cook ... he doesn't like the oven being hot so he made no effort to stay in the kitchen, but once he realises they're cooked he'll be back in here and my moment of piece will be lost LOL and the sausage rolls will slowly disappear ... for a small kid he don't half eat loads ... he's already gone through Frosties, 4 handmade chocolates, a bag of worcester sauce french fries, a raspberry donut and a pack of milky way stars and still expects lunch!!!!

Papertake Weekly Challenge Sketch #39

Flippin' heck i nearly forgot to post this card on here ... had such a hectic weekend with Scott's birthday celebrations, but everything came together and went well ... the chocolates went down very well. I'd made little gable end boxes and put one of each flavour chocolate in a cello bag inside the box with a party popper! Mine and Andy's chocolates were stolen ... we were told we could eat the ones we had at home LOL!

You should've seen me Saturday morning dressed in my finery, tying helium balloons up and trying to make them stay in a bloomin' black bin bag! Then on my hands and knees painting my sisters toe nails ... green of all colours, whilst she still had her sandals so i only had to do the toe nails that showed PMSL!

Life Is Like A Box of Chocolates ....

... you never know what your gonna get!

... which couldn't be more true with this little lot, quite simply cos i've not put a guide to which is which LOL! Why spoil all the fun?! But cos its you lot i'll tell you which are which ... from left to right starting at the top .... 2 milk chocolate fruit & nut, 2 white chocolate strawberry creme's, 2 white belgium chocolate equivalents, 2 milk chocolate orange creme's (the chocolate looks funny cos i melted it too quick, but its fine honest!), 2 plain chocolate lemon creme's, 2 milk belguim chocolates, 2 plain chocolate peppermint creme's and lastly 2 white chocolate cranberries.

Jilli Wonka's Chocolate Factory ....

I know for a few days now i've been going about the chocolates i've been making but not shown you any photos up till now that is ......

This first picture is of Andy stirring the fondant to make it set ... it has to spend around half an hour in the fridge on the tray cooling once its fetched out of the saucepan ....

I didn't fancy melting the chocolate in a bowl over a saucepan and looked on the internet for alternatives ... I found that Eloise's wax heater does the same thing as some of the devices used to melt chocolate. So, i got her to clean it out, I found some clean pots in my cupboard and thats how we melted the chocolate and kept it melted ....

Below is the chocolate mould brought from EBAY and when i can find the packaging slip i'll put on the silicone mould website where its from. To get to this stage i've painted each hole with a thin layer of chocolate and gradually built it up, allowing the chocolate to set in between each layer ...

After I made the fondant and it was set (as they say in the recipe) i divided it into 4 and added flavour and colouring ... Peppermint, Orange, Lemon and Strawberry ...


And this is the end result and the packaging that i've created for some very special people in my life ...

The chocolates from left to right are ... Milk Chocolate Orange Creme's, White Chocolate Strawberry Creme's, Plain Chocolate Peppermint Creme's and Plain Chocolate Lemon Creme's. Since taking the photo i've made my version of Belgium chocolates (filled with Nutella) and today i'm giving milk chocolate fruit and nut a whirl and i thought white chocolate with cranberries in might be nice!

Have made some white chocolate strawberry creme's yesterday and today .... flippin' heck, i don't like working with white chocolate at all ... such a sickly smell when its melted and not very runny at all, so can't drizzle it over the other chocolates which was the plan. Once I've made the orange creme's with milk chocolate rather than plain I'll post the pictures ... I'm so proud of the ones I've done already and love my new name Tab's given me ...... "Jilli Wonka" ... wonder if i can copyright it LOL!!!
