When will this end.......!?????

OK so I'll apologise now.....I'm really, really, really sorry but I'm about to subject you to another .... sshhhhh..... [whispers] .... candle! In my defence its to fulfill another order from my Mum, who fortunately can't get enough of them and is willing people to have a special occasion! Think she might invent a candle giving day so that she can have a job lot of them. Which will do me a favour and feed my addiction. Hubby's a bit bemused by it all ... bless him! I just had him drilling a hole in a shell, when I asked him to do it he twice said to me "you want me to drill a hole in a shell?" as though I'd completely lost the plot and in all fairness I probably have pmsl! I think this is about like Dawny P's obsession with her Martha Stewart Doo Dah punch as she calls it rofl! She has a lot to answer to!

An Award

I have received this lovely award from Vicki and I'm very grateful to her for it.
The rules are:
1. The winner can put the logo on her blog.
2. Link the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs of the girls you have nominated
I find it difficult to choose between all your fab girlies because each and every one of your blogs are amazing and a constant source of inspiration to me. So because a lot of you already have this award I'm gonna pass it on to anyone who visits here that doesn't have it already and those that do have it already and who want it again.
Thanks so much Vicki!

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 25 & Katharina's Sketch #27

This week our challenge theme was chosen by Helene at Alota Stamps who is once again sponsoring the challenge.
In the water!
As always a little flexibility is allowed in the theme, it can be in, on or beside water and the water can even be frozen i.e. snow or ice! We always look forward to your own interpretations!

There are two fab stamps up for grabs for one lucky person.... gonna keep my everything crossed lol!

This card is made using one of Katharina's brilliant sketches ~ sketch #27.

CS ~ stash, DP ~ freebie download from here, spotty dp Pink Petticoat, image ~ one of my new Joanna Sheen stamps coloured with twinkling H2O's and watercoloured pencils, Fluffy Stuff on waves, sentiment stamp ~ RAK from Jo, string ~ Poundland, shell ~ Cleethorpes market yesterday (Parents went on a day trip so sent a text asking for shells).

Managed to do some sewing on this one and rather than humping my big sewing machine out I remembered that my Mum had bought a small one from Home Bargains for £9.99! It only does a straight stitch, but its like a dolls sewing machine. So I've borrowed her's which generally means she wont be getting it back lol!

Also went to Poundstretcher today and found that they sold candles for £1 each! So I bought 5, like you do ...... of course I rang my MOT up and told her ... not! And I'm sad to say I've made another candle but this one is to fulfill an order....!

Sketch Saturday ~ Sketch #13

Another fab sketch from Sketch Saturday....

This is another make for my friend Vicki, who has given me a list of her families birthdays lol! The person that its for is into hunting in a big way, so I thought this image fit the bill.

CS ~ stash, DP ~ more leftovers, leather & eyelets ~ stash, image ~ coloured with watercolour pencils, leaves ~ punch. Not altogether sure about the leaves, but I thought it needed something in that top lefthand corner .... perhaps it didn't!

Still not heard from the MOT, although thats never a bad thing lol! But I do wonder if she was successful in her mission to buy tissue paper and candles.......

Yes Another One...!

Guess what I've been up to today?......

I'm sorry but I had to just try it with a photo printed on tissue paper, just to see if it worked ... and look it does!! I think this obsession is getting out of hand, but I had to do another one to show the mother-out-law (oops in-law) how it was done. She was really ****ed off when I showed her, but I just had too (innocent smile) lol and has now dashed off into town to buy candles and tissue paper to try it herself pmsl!

Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ A Stitch in time....

This weeks challenge is A stitch in time which is simply to use stitching on your project! It can be real or faux! Well to be honest with you I cheated on this one. If you read the previous post you'll know how my days been. I did eventually get my DH's birthday card finished, which has taken me all weekend to make (kept getting sidetracked by candles lol) then I remember the PTW challenge, hopped over and had a look hoping that the card I'd just made would fit the challenge.... it didn't! But it does now lol!

CS ~ Papermill, DP ~ Pink Petticoat, image ~ coloured with watercolour pencils and H2O's (haven't got a clue what that shiny spot on the face is, but its not there irl) sentiment ~ pc generated, string ~ Poundland, charms ~ Crafts Central and faux stitching done with a compass, ruler and a gel pen. Glossy Accents on fish.

Another Candle .....

Yes I just had to do it.... make another candle! I'm gonna blame this addiction on Dawny P! It has to be her fault cos she put the tutorial on her blog and if her blog wasn't so darn good I wouldn't have visited and seen that post. So, as you can see it IS her fault pmsl!

My parents came this afternoon while I was desperately trying to make DH's birthday card, to have a haircut. I was showing them my blog and they saw the candle I'd made for Suzie ... who adored it and has placed an order for her whole family and friends! Anyway, Mum loved it and thought it'd be a good idea for me to make one immediately for my niece Beth for her 18th birthday , which incidentally isn't until February 20th! Beth's nickname as a baby and little child was Betty Boo (her surname is Boocock, poor child!) and so her love of Betty Boo grew with her ... ok it was forced on her! Therefore, we chose a Betty Boop image off the net for the front of the candle. My parents were really impressed by the technique, I thought Mum was gonna wet herself she was that impressed lol! So thank you Dawny P for my new addiction!

Friday Sketchers ~ Sketch #16

Its Carole's turn this week at Friday Sketches to come up with a sketch. There's another fab prize for one lucky winner. Here's the sketch....

and this is what i did with it...

It's my DH birthday on Tuesday and my Mum asked me to make a card for him from her and my Dad.... so once again I find myself making 3 cards for the same person (although I've only done 2 up to now.... not managed to make one from me yet!) This year I've refused to make a card for the girls, so thats 2 less!

CS ~ Papermill, DP ~ free download from here, image ~ PIF from Kathy, Jellychicks Adventures, coloured with watercolour pencils and H2O's, sentiment ~ PC generated, gems ~ stash, buttons ~ Poppicrafts.

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 24

This weeks challenge is to make a card using BRIGHT COLOURS.

We have 2 gorgeous stamps from Kitty at Spiral Whisper to give to one lucky randomly chosen winner, Count Maxula and Milly Broom Stick.

Its my friends birthday on Monday so I decided to use this challenge to make her a card... but it didn't quite turn out anything like a card so I hope this counts......

Whilst blog hopping I found a tutorial for this technique on Dawny P's blog. You should check it out its so easy ....look even I did one lol! I used my paddling Tilda stamp (or whatever she's called lol not really up on all their names yet!) and coloured her with H2O's and watercolour pencils. The sentiment and verse I printed onto tissue paper by sticking it with double sided tape to a scrap piece of card to get it to go through the printer (although the printer nearly went through the window!) Tissue paper, cellophane and ribbon ~ stash.

Blog candy giveaway!

Juliet has decided to giveaway some fab blog candy just because.... She has some fab cards on her blogspot, check it out!

Debbie is giving away some absolutely gorgeous blog candy to celebrate her 10,000 hits. You only have until Sunday so hurry and go check it out.

A Couple Of Challenge Cards

This morning is the first time I've had chance to craft this week. I didn't get anything done at the weekend, cos Fae roped me into a bit of childminding with her at a wedding on Saturday. We had 8 babies between 5 adults... what a nightmare! The time went quick though lol! So, while Rylee was at nursery this morning, once the mountain of ironing had been done, I set to work on the two cards that I needed to complete the nursery order. The first one is based on sketch #12 at Sketch Saturday....

I love how this card has turned out. CS ~ stash, DP ~ paper leftover from previous cards, ribbon ~ Poppicrafts, image ~ Jo coloured with H2O's, Sakura Stardust and watercolour pencils, sentiment ~ PC generated.

The second card is for Papertake Weekly and again is made using a sketch. This time with another fab sketch from Katharina and is Sketch #9.

CS ~ Papermill, DP ~ leftover paper from previous cards, ribbon ~ Poppicrafts, image ~ another from Jo again coloured with H2O's and watercolour pencils, Glossy Accents on flower, sentiment ~ PC generated.

Two in One Challenge!

Cute Card Thursday's Challenge 23 is "Soft Furnishings" you can use fabric, ribbon, stitching, buttons etc, anything you can find on the soft furnishings in the home ie curtains, cushions, sofas etc. I better not tell you what my first thoughts were, but it contained naughty words lol! But everything seemed to come together today. The card was made using the Friday Sketchers Sketch No15 by Mumur, which is absolutely fab and another I shall be using again! So here is what I did with it......
Sorry about the photo, but its dark here now. CS ~ Papermill, DP ~ off a disc containing 3000 backing papers from ebay ages ago, probably one of my first buys, leather ~ dont panic, I didn't cut a piece out of the back of my sofa. I got a 5 huge bin liners full of leather off cuts from Freecycle last summer and just stuffed it my loft cos I knew I'd use some of it sometime, the studs are re-upholstery studs from when I re-upholstered a few 3 pieces suites, string ~ off Andy's new jeans he bought today from Primark, flowers ~ cut from leather using Cuttlebug and Hippie Chick Alpha's, small flower centres are brads ~ stash, sentiment is PC generated, image ~ is my new stamp I got today from Dewdrop Craftz (see post below) and is paper pieced and coloured using watercolour pencils, sakura pens and H2O's.

Its DH birthday 26th August and Rylee asked me to make him a card for his Pops. Talking of Rylee I've had him on a strict training regime....I'm trying to teach him how to do the washing....

I don't think he's quite got it yet, but we're working on it lol!

Claudia's Candy!

Claudia has some fab candy on offer to celebrate 20,000 hits. 5 lucky winners will receive a card making kit that Claudia has put together. I'm keeping everything crossed!

Am I Surprised or What?

I arrived home just after lunch today to find that the postman had been, which is a surprise in itself, cos it was only 1.00pm and he has been known to deliver mail to our house at 5.00pm, but anyway! On my mat (which is lie cos I dont have one) I found a brown envelope, which normally isn't good. I couldn't for the life of me think who it was from or what it was. I stood looking at it trying to work it out cos it felt odd .... why dont we just open mail instead of inspecting and trying to guess whats in it?! To my great surprise, when I eventually opened it I found it was a stamp I ordered YESTERDAY at lunchtime from dewdropcraftz. It was the fab stamp that was last weeks Cute Card Thursday prize "Just Like My Daddy" and cos I didn't win it I stropped off to the webshop and bought it. I didn't for the life of me expect it to turn up today though! I had hoped I'd have it before the 26th August cos I wanted to use for Andy's birthday card off Rylee, thought it'd be quite nice. I know it says Daddy but it be Pops lol! What a super fast service! I shall definately be buying from here again!

Sewing a card??!!!

I've seen on a quite a few of your blogs that you do a lot of sewing on your cards, so I thought i might as well give it a go. I have a sewing machine and overlocker from my dressmaking years in my 20's (gosh thats years ago!). Anyway, I got DH to haul the machine out of the cupboard for me and off I went ... nothing to it is there! The hardest part is hefting a heavy machine in and out of a cupboard quietly so not to wake Rylee lol!
I'm really pleased with how this has turned out, I'm gonna look for a smaller machine though, something that I can keep on the table top that doesn't take up too much room. CS ~ Papermill, DP ~ is leftover from 2 previous cards but is originally Raspberry Road Designs, Flower Girl, image is coloured with watercolour pencils and blinged with glamour dust, hearts ~ Morrisons. I made this using the sketch from Carol, as in a previous post.

Steph's Blog Candy Part 2

For those of us who were lucky enough to win Steph's fab blog candy .....I was one! I was one! lol! Now to the 2nd part. Steph asks that we make something using just the bits and bobs in the kit. So here are my cards made using the fab candy.....

I hope these fit the brief ok!

Papertake Weekly Challenge ~ Button it!

This week's challenge is to use a button or buttons on your project! If you don't have any buttons you could try drawing one freehand, making one with chipboard etc!

I used this challenge to make a card for a friend of mine who I just found out has been in hospital for a couple of days with suspected meningitis. So, I've made a bright cheery card and am in the process of putting together a "Get Well Basket" with tissues, chicken soup, a cup, a tea bag, coffee sachet, horlicks sachet and a cappuccino sachet, orange juice, muffins, a magazine and good old chick flick. If i get chance to take a photo of it before I visit I'll post it on here later. Anyway, back to the card...

CS ~ stash, DP ~ Shabby Princess, ribbon, blooms and buttons ~ stash, image ~ rak from Jo coloured with watercolour pencils. The verse inside says "...you're feeling unwell! So because you're feeling poorly this card is sent to say, hope you're feeling better soon in every single way.

I had more cards to make for Nursery and wanted something easy, so I decided to follow two challenges for inspiration Stamp something's challenge this week is to use pink, green, and blue. Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 22

This week the theme is 'The two of us', use two of something on a card, it could be 2 people, 2 animals or 1 of each. My best friend Vicki asked me to make an anniversary card for her husband. She went through all my stamped images and stamps and chose the ones she wanted me to use and the rest was left up to me. This is what I came up with and it fits really well into this weeks challenge...

CS ~ Papermill & Crafts Central, put through the Cuttlebug embossing folders, ribbon and buttons ~ stash, heart ~ cut using Colluzzle, sentiment ~ pc generated and images ~ coloured with Sakura Stardust pens and watercoloured pencils, blinged with glamour dust and glitter.
