Magnolia vs Stampavie ~ week 1 & Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 35

This is the very first challenge on this blog for Magnolia vs Stampavie and is a sketch challenge done by JayJay and sponsored by Donna ( Crafty Krafts ).

Cute Card Thursdays challenge 35 is Fairies + Angels. This week they would love to see either Fairies or Angels on your cards and they have a fantastic prize which has been kindly donated by Helene at Alota stamps.

I've had this card in my head since the beginning of the week, but just not found chance to make it until this evening. I intended to make it this morning but the main PC or Andy's PC's crashed in amazing style with flashing lights and sirens! It had an almighty virus (antispyknight) that he spent hours trying to remove manually yesterday only to have to format it this morning! With the main PC out of action it meant that I had no printer to use until all the operating system and all the drivers had been reloaded. So I had to result to doing house****... sorry ladies! This is how bored and stir crazy I was .... I started by doing 2 candles but then I couldn't finish those cos I needed the printer, so I moved on and cleaned the cooker ..... moped the kitchen floor, lounge floor, Ellies floor once I'd changed the bed sheets and dusted her room and then the spare bedroom floor! I went to my parents house to give them both a haircut and then back home to prepare and cook tea. Whilst continuously loading the washing machine and tumble drier! Anyway, eventually got to sit down and make this card. CS ~ Crafts Central, DP's ~ dark brown, Stacy M and lighter paper ~ Raspberry Road Designs, Leaves Of Time, image ~ Magnolia Edwin and leaves, coloured with Whisper Markers, Glossy Accents on leaves, swirls cut with Cuttlebug, sentiment ~ Rubber Romance.

I have some amazing friends on here, who are kind and generous beyond belief and I'm really grateful (you know who you are ladies...mwah!)

I also got this card, stamped images and some gorgeous lace from Kate.

A Wedding Card and Christmas Present!

Laura my "Fat Club" leader asked me to make a wedding card for her brother. My brief was ... it didn't have to be traditional as they're getting married on a beach in Mexico, some gold on it and their names if possible. I knew exactly which stamp and papers I wanted to use for this card, had to buy the stamp first though lol! Good enough excuse don't you think?....

So, this is how it turned out.... CS ~ Stash, DP's ~ back paper is Whisper of Romance by Verena Karolyi and the other paper is Alexa Crazy by Alexandra Brandwein, rafia, shells, peel-offs and bling ~ stash, swirls ~ cut using Cuttlebug, image ~ Rubber Romance stamp, "You Shouldn't Have", coloured with Whisper Markers and Sakura Glaze and Stardust pens, skirt is white netting from stash to make it appear more weddingy.

Made a box for it too and added another shell to the lid with a raffia bow and 2 hearts cut using Cuttlebug from Hippie Chic Alpha Set. Used the same papers for the box as I did the card.

Now onto the Christmas present.... My gorgeous, bestest blogging buddy Jill surprised me on Monday (actually it wasn't a surprise cos I hate surprises and clearly she can't keep a secret lol! and she told me about it over the weekend!) by sending me this gorgelicious Daisy stamp. I'd mentioned that I was adding it to my ever growing wishlist and her being my fairy godmother made it come true. I haven't had chance to ink her up yet, but she has been stroked well ... everytime I pass her lol! Not even managed to put her away in the drawer yet, shes taken pride of place on the dining table next to my laptop pmsl! (god I'm a saddo) But isn't she just cute?! Hope your gonna love yours as much as I love mine Jill PMSL!!!!!!

Secret Crafter ~ Challenge #5, Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 34 & Papertake Weekly ~ Simply Sparkling

This week's challenge is another fantastic sketch but this time with a twist. It has been set by JILL. The twist to the sketch is that you must use the colours pink, white and brown. Hmmm.... dont make it too easy Jill lol! The challenge 34 at Cute Card Thursday is "Cheers"and lastly the challenge at Papertake Weekly is "Simply Sparkling". I've mulled this one over all weekend, trying to work out how I was going to make a card that would fit all of this. It most definately had to be a girlie card, wouldn't work for the male cards I have left to make for my November birthdays! Then Fae, my darling eldest daughter comes and says I need a 21st birthday card for next weekend.... bless her, she must've known pmsl!

Love how this has turned out and will defo be using Jill's sketch again. CS ~ pearl card from The Works, DP's ~ Summer Driggs (I just love this woman!) swirls and 21~ Cuttlebug, ribbon and bling ~ stash, image ~ one of my trusty Rubber Romance stamps, April Martini Girl, coloured with Whisper Markers and Sakura Glaze used for her lippy... every girl needs a good glossy lippy now and again! Christmas Cards

Chris reminded me about my Christmas cards I'd made the other week. Whilst visiting her blog just... I saw her fab cards made using a Cuttlebug folder. Really quick, but stylish cards. I thought I better get mine uploaded on to my blog....

I made a selection of these using up scraps of card for added colour. The sentiment was printed on the card via the PC before I put it through the Cuttlebug. Pearls are from stash and are no longer wonky like they are on the photo lol!

Sketch Saturday ~ Sketch #22

I'm just loving all these sketch challenges. They're the one thing I never bore of. Sometimes I think the hardest part of making a card is deciding where to put everything and these sketches take all the hassle away! It's never easy making a sympathy card at the best of times. I never know what image to use or words, let alone how to put it together. But as I have a card to make I thought I'd use the sketch at Sketch Saturday. I think its worked out quite well too!
CS ~ stash, DP ~Art Class 101, Raspberry Road Designs, image ~ Stampendous ( I coloured the stamp with my Whisper Markers, warmed the ink by breathing on it and then stamped it on the card) ribbon ~ stash, Martha Stewart Doily Punch thingy ~ RAK from Dawny P, thanks Dawny, I tried to blend it in with the paper i used by wiping it with a baby wipe that i'd put colour on from my Whisper Markers (does that make sense?), pearls ~ stash, sentiment ~ Studio G clear stamps.

Another Birthday Card!

This is the last card need for the MIL's birthday....I really enjoyed making this card, I love the papers, I think they're a Raspberry Road Design (but not 100% sure on that) its called Cherry Picking. CS ~ leftover, Tilda ~ RAK from Jill coloured with Whisper Markers, flowers, ribbon and gems ~ stash, sentiment ~ PC generated. The chair image is clipart...I've been googling again! I can't afford to buy one of the WOJ chair stamp that are absolutely gorgeous so I decided to be resourceful instead of stropping cos I can't have one pmsl! I think it works quite well too, so I like it even more now!

Secret Crafter ~ Challenge #4

This week's challenge is a sketch layout set by DONNA. You can use the sketch anyway around and for any theme as long as we still recognise the layout.

Well, thats all the MIL's birthday cards made now! I really enjoyed using this sketch and will definately be using it again. CS ~ leftover from stash, DP ~ Summer Driggs, image ~ RAK (can't remember who, but thanks anyway!) coloured with Whisper Markers, ribbon ~ RAK from Rach (ribbon was around images so recycled it) peel-off, gems, brad and flower ~ stash, orange, yellow and middle of flower cut using new punches.

Cute Card Thursday ~ Challenge 33

Challenge 33 ~The Stars at Night.

This week we would like to see some stars or something spooky on your cards.

Well I'm all done with my spooky cards, I don't have anymore people to send them too, so I'm not going to make them for the sake of it. I do however have lots of birthday cards to make. Andy's family seem to like November for birthdays ... there is only his youngest brother and Andy himself who don't have birthdays that month... his parents and 2 other brothers do! Which makes a total of 16 cards I have to make in November just for them, without ones that Vicki or my Mum want me to make!

This is what I came up with... CS ~ stash, DPs ~ Alexa crazy, freebie download ages ago! Image ~ Joanna Sheen, coloured with Whisper Markers, Raffia ~ Poundland, starfish ~ basket of shells from Skegness, peel-off ~ stash, used the old mini stitch sewing machine again, am really enjoying the effect!

I know its not a star at night, but the card I was going to show was one I'd made last week for my friends little boys birthday and I don't seem to have taken a photo of it...doh! That was a space themed card, had an astronaut on it and stars! Anyhow, here's hoping a starfish counts!

Friday Sketchers ~ Sketch #25

Claudia Rose is hosting this weeks sketch #25. There is a faboulous prize, kindly sponsored by Thomas Hammond from Scorit....
CS # stash, DPs ~ Carrie Stephens free download, image ~ Joanna Sheencoloured with Whisper markers, swirls ~ cut with Cuttlebug, bling ~ stash, flower ~ Dovecraft punches.
